Could another Bachelor Nation baby be coming soon?!
Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo found love and got engaged on ‘The Bachelorette’ season 13.
The two have since married and live in Los Angeles with their dog.
Since their time on the show, Rachel has become a hugely successful TV and podcast host, and has even written her own book.
Bryan also opened his own chiropractic clinic and hosts the “Talking It Out with Bachelor Nation” podcast.
Now Rachel has stopped by “Talking It Out,” where she and Bryan candidly discussed balancing family planning with their blossoming careers.
While the two really want to have kids, Rachel opened up saying, “It’s not fair. It really isn’t, because we have to make a choice that the other side doesn’t if you want kids. Not all women want children, but if you want children or a family, at some point you have to make a choice. There’s a fear of losing what I started or if people will want to hire me after that. Sure, there are laws in place where this isn’t supposed to happen, but let’s be honest, you know it does.
Rachel went on to say that it was something she was dealing with right now and it had been difficult.
The TV host said: ‘That’s a really scary thought. I’m dealing with that right now. I’m strategically in my mind trying to plan when might be the best time. Then you take your time doing it and realize it might not be as easy as you thought. You can’t be like, ‘July 2022, I want this to happen’, when it could be a lot harder.
Rachel also opened up about how getting pregnant isn’t always easy and mentioned fellow Bachelor Nation stars Astrid Loch and Kevin Wendt, who welcomed their son in August earlier this year.
Rachel said, “They were upfront about it. Astrid and Kevin, who are very good friends of ours, had to go through the IVF process to have children. It didn’t happen as naturally or easily as they thought. It’s something that, as you get older as a woman, you think about all the time. It is so unfair. You want it, but you feel selfish in some ways because you want your career, but also want to start a family. I see a lot of women who are able to do both, so I don’t want to give the impression that you can’t have both.
Rachel said she learned from many working mothers that there is no right time or perfect time, just do it.
Bryan’s “Talking It Out” co-host Mike Johnson asked if there would be little ones for Rachel and Bryan soon, and both said they were “already taking action.”
Bryan also chimed in, saying that while there’s never an easy or perfect time to have kids, they’re ready to adapt.
The Bachelor Nation star said, “In life things change and you have to adapt. As Rachel said, there is evidence that successful women like her have done it too. It concerns me too, because I will have to step up what I do because I also have my own career. I’m going to have to step in and help him and take over. I’m ready for this, but even if I wasn’t ready, you just gotta be ready. I will be ready when it happens. I don’t think anyone is really ready for this, but maybe baby after baby it gets easier.
And the couple went on to discuss how many children they hope to have one day.
Rachel said, “I wanted four, but we have to cut back now. I am 37 years old. But I’m telling you all, if you don’t think I’m going to be one of those people strapping this baby on my back to do interviews, I’m going to move out! Our parents did. M mom worked, Bryan, your mom worked, they did and did. I know I can. It’s just a matter of taking those steps to do so. It’s scary.”
We are thrilled for Rachel and Bryan every time that day comes around, and we know their candor and honesty on this subject will help others through something similar.
