Michael Duperron explores local politics

A Quesnel chiropractor is running for city council in the upcoming municipal election.

Michael Duperron hopes to add his experience in healthcare to solving key local issues such as doctor shortages and growing crime.

“I think there are a few things that I’ve noticed gradually deteriorating in our city, so this is an attempt to try to help add a voice to things,” he said from his chiropractic clinic in downtown Quesnel.

“It’s my first attempt in any political sphere, so I don’t know what to expect, but I’ll learn as I go.”

Duperron submitted his candidacy on Tuesday, September 6.

He graduated from Western States Chiropractic College in Portland, Oregon.

Duperron has lived in Quesnel for over 20 years.

In his spare time, Duperron enjoys spending time with his family and his children, aged four and nine.

“We love Quesnel, so I think that’s another reason I’m trying to get a voice,” he added.
