hope lives put on his 3rd Annual Golfing for Hope Tournament at Highland Meadows Golf Club in Windsor, CO.

Proceeds from this tournament will be used to help families and individuals suffering from the many side effects of breast cancer treatment.

“Tuned In to NoCo” had the chance to speak with Hope Lives Executive Director Elise Carver about the event. Carver says that in addition to the golf tournament, they have prepared other interesting things for the participants.

“We’ll have burritos for breakfast Raff’s Taverngave coffee Starbucks, a taco bar for lunch and we’ll have various drinks, snacks and games along the way. We will also have raffles and a silent auction. We really tried to think about how we could make it a fun experience. We wanted to add value and at the same time make it all go to a very important cause.”

Carver says they’re always looking for players, sponsors, volunteers, and silent auction items, and she wants you to know that their goal is to make that worthwhile for everyone involved.

“It’s important to me that it’s a win-win situation for everyone. So maybe it’s a small business and you’d like some exposure with a nice silent auction item – that’s great. Because it always goes to a very important cause. So if there is any interest, we can absolutely find you a place.”

Hope Lives partners with various support services and products, and Carver says these services are completely free for people dealing with breast cancer.

“We’re partnering with various providers in the community to make our neighbors feel better when they’re on treatment because it’s such an arduous and difficult time… We just give them a list of our providers and tell them , here we go. Here’s free money for personal care. You decide what you want to do with it.

From counseling to nutrition and mastectomy supplies, Carver says they’re there to help anyone in need, and they even have free prostheses and wigs available.

“We have a small deposit of wigs, prostheses and various other things that past clients wanted to donate…We will give them away for free. We just had a daughter the other day. A single mother. Didn’t not just any family here. She was wearing a baseball cap. She wasn’t really looking at us – she wasn’t in a good place, and she left with the prettiest wig and she put on this baseball cap. baseball in his backpack.
