Micah Raskin discusses the benefits of chiropractic treatment

Micah Raskin On The Benefits of Chiropractic Treatment

NASSAU COUNTY, NEW YORK, USA, September 29, 2021 /EINPresswire.com/ – There are over 70 million people in America who suffer from some kind of chronic pain, including migraines and lower back pain . While pain relievers can help, it’s not always a long-term solution. The negative side effects, the high prices and most importantly the risk of addiction leave people looking for a more holistic treatment for their chronic pain.

An alternative pain management treatment is chiropractic, says Micah Raskin. Especially for those who suffer from back pain, migraines, ATM or neck pain. Chiropractic care is primarily associated with realigning the spine – the subtlety of adjusting the spine in place, combined with muscle stimulation and rehabilitation. Demonstrate how much more real chiropractic care is, says Raskin.

Chiropractic treatment is affordable

In 2016, a study was conducted on the financial benefits of chiropractic care. They followed Medicare patients with chronic back pain who requested chiropractic care. The control group took more traditional treatments such as pain relievers.

The study found that those who participated in chiropractic treatment had lower costs overall. They also spent less time in treatment. That’s because chiropractic focuses on solving the problem, not just the symptoms, says Micah Raskin.

Micah Raskin says chiropractic treatment reduces need for opioids

When you have chronic pain, it is likely that at some point you will be offered a regimen of opioid pain relievers to manage it. For many people, it is the only treatment that relieves their suffering, says Micah Raskin. But for those who suffer from back pain, neck pain, migraines, or other skeletal pain, chiropractic may be a healthier alternative.

In 2020, a study was carried out by researchers interested in pain management and chiropractic care. The study compared opioid prescriptions for those who requested chiropractic care to those who did not.

They found that patients who saw the chiropractor were less likely to fill their opioid prescriptions. This could be the result of a number of factors, says Micah Raskin, including a higher reduction in pain and a preference for holistic care.

Chiropractic treatment helps reduce back pain

Perhaps the best reason to seek chiropractic care is effective and reliable pain relief and increased range of motion, says Micah Raskin. While chiropractic treatment is not for everyone and cannot cure pain caused by degenerative diseases and conditions, it can be a great alternative to steroid injections, surgery, and other invasive and painful procedures. .

The American College of Physicians (CAP) recommends that physicians suggest that their patients seek non-drug treatment for lower back pain, including yoga, tai chi, acupuncture, chiropractic care with rehab sessions, and meditation.

Even against the placebo groups, chiropractic treatment was found to improve function, range of motion, and pain in a 2019 study.

How chiropractic treatment improves muscle pain

The majority of those seeking treatment for back pain choose chiropractic treatment. Each year, chiropractors treat approximately 22 million people in the United States. About 7.6 million people, or 32% of the population, seek relief from back pain caused by accidents, sports injuries, and muscle strain. Discomfort in the neck, arms and legs, as well as headaches, are other common problems.

Various reasons can cause the pain such as lifestyle, junk food, fast food, underlying illnesses, sitting styles, etc. Sometimes we ignore some little things that lead to critical issues.

Do you know what chiropractic care is?

Chiropractors use a number of tactics, including manual spinal manipulation and other complementary therapies. Proper alignment of the musculoskeletal structure, especially the spine, allows the body to heal itself without resorting to surgery or medicine. Manipulation is a treatment to regain joint mobility that has been reduced due to tissue damage due to a traumatic event or repetitive stress.

Treatment of muscles, joints, bones, and tissues such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons is the standard pain management mechanism for chiropractors. If you suffer from severe muscle pain, your doctor may prescribe soma pain 500 mg Where Pain O Soma.

Chiropractic treatment for back pain: what does it include?

To assess whether treatment is appropriate for your back pain, a chiropractor takes a medical history, performs a physical exam, and may use lab tests or diagnostic imaging.

One or more manual adjustments, in which the doctor manipulates the joints with controlled and brutal force to increase the range and quality of movement, perhaps part of the treatment strategy. Many chiropractors offer advice on exercise and diet to their patients in tandem with medical treatment. In addition to relieving back pain, the goals of chiropractic care include restoring function and preventing injury.

Use a combination of chiropractic and muscle therapy

Muscles, joints, spine, and neurological system are all interconnected, affecting the way you function, recover from injury, and the overall health of your body. Chiropractors can provide great whole body treatment as an integrated system by combining physiotherapeutic muscle therapies and chiropractic adjustments. Each treatment is beneficial to the other.

Sometimes you have to take medication for a short time to get relief from muscle pain. So the doctor suggests that you take an appropriate dosage pain o soma 500mg.

Muscle therapy decreases soft tissue tension, making chiropractic adjustments more effective, as tight muscles can cause joints to misalign. Muscle therapy, on the other hand, is supported by chiropractic. The adjustments can provide instant relief if the pain is caused by misalignment. After the joints are corrected, the soft tissues heal faster. Adjustments to the spine relax the deep layers of soft tissue, which can be difficult to feel, allowing muscle treatments to work more effectively.

The benefits of chiropractic treatment for muscle pain

Muscle spasms and pain can occur as a result of joint instability and bodily strain. If these issues are not resolved, the muscle knot is unlikely to be resolved either. Other therapies, such as massage, will only provide temporary comfort if the root cause of the problem is not addressed. But some drugs, like Pain o Soma 500 mg, can relieve muscle pain.

Chiropractors will use practical chiropractic manipulation techniques to address dysfunctions and limitations if your muscle pain is caused by abnormalities in the joints or spine. After they have been treated, muscle therapy techniques can be used to work on the knots themselves in order to resolve them.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of chiropractic treatment?

Spinal manipulation and chiropractic therapy are normally considered safe and useful for treating lower back pain resulting from activities such as moving furniture or being attacked. Acute back pain, which is more common than chronic back pain, lasts six weeks or less and usually goes away on its own.

Chiropractic care has also been shown to be effective in treating neck pain and headaches in studies. Plus, the light pressure used by chiropractors and deep tissue massage providers can help fight osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia. Corn pain o soma 500 can reduce the pain that occurs with fibromyalgia.

Prolotherapy or sclerotherapy for the treatment of pain, which is used by some chiropractors, osteopaths, and physicians to treat chronic back pain that lasts longer than three months, has not been proven in studies. Injections of sugar water or anesthesia are given in the hope of strengthening the ligaments of the back.

Since patients who have osteoporosis, spinal cord compression, or inflammatory arthritis, or who are using blood thinning medications should not undergo spinal manipulation, these people should avoid the procedure. In addition, before undergoing spinal manipulation, people with a history of cancer should seek medical clearance from their doctor.

All of your treatment options depend on an accurate diagnosis of your back pain. The chiropractor should be aware of your medical history, which should include any continuing medical illness, current medications, traumatic or surgical history, and any lifestyle factors that may influence your health.

This has happened in the past when patients with a herniated or herniated disc have experienced a worsening of their condition, or when manipulation of the neck has resulted in damage to the spinal cord. To be sure, always see your doctor to see if chiropractic or other pain reduction options are appropriate for your condition.

What to expect when visiting a chiropractor

Many people fear chiropractic treatment until they try it. When people become chiropractic patients, they often seek pain relief from their chiropractor first. Patients who have previously used chiropractic as part of their treatment plan will usually contact their chiropractor first.

Final conclusion

One approach used by chiropractors is a hands-on adjustment process that helps your body recover and helps relieve discomfort. They frequently focus on disorders involving the spine.

Chiropractic adjustments were an effective treatment for a variety of neck and back pain in studies. Seeing a chiropractor can also reduce your need for intrusive procedures such as surgery.

Meier Family Chiropractic offering the revolutionary Gonstead chiropractic treatment in Waukee, Iowa

Waukee, IA: The Gonstead Chiropractic Method is based on a biomedical principle that emphasizes the pelvic girdle as the foundation of the human body. A tilted or turned pelvic girdle causes drastic changes in the body. These misalignments cause a strong pressure on the discs forcing them to detach from the vertebrae. Meier Family Chiropractic for Back Care uses the Gonstead Method, which involves a thorough analysis of the health of the spine. According to their senior doctor Nick, it is possible to live a pain-free life. Pre-existing conditions such as sports injuries, workplace injuries, pregnancy, prolonged sitting, car accidents, and aging cause pain, causing most people to see a chiropractor for pain relief. He advises that this should not be the case. Instead of seeing symptoms like musculoskeletal pain and headaches, patients should seek chiropractic care as part of their overall holistic health.

Led by Dr. Nick, the facility performs a comprehensive body chiropractic analysis, which helps determine the course of treatment for each patient. The facility representative said of their services: “We pride ourselves on using an advanced chiropractic technique designed for long term results, not a temporary fix. Our main goal is to make sure the back is properly aligned. When the back is in good condition, the body can heal and function better. What happens is that with a neuro-structural change on the spine, the body begins to malfunction, breaks down, and the above symptoms begin to manifest. Patients need to stop looking for quick fixes due to chronic headaches, loss of balance, chronic pain, and muscle tension. Let them come see us for treatment.

Gonstead’s method uses x-rays, palpation, instrumentation, and visualization to determine the location that needs to be adjusted. In most scenarios, the condition of the disc determines the problem that could be causing pain to the patient. As long as the vertebra is misaligned, chiropractic services are needed. This method combines these four modes of analysis to determine the possible cause of a patient’s problem. After deducing the problem, they use the techniques suggested by Gonstead to cure the problem without surgery. Chiropractic methods focus primarily on disk dynamics to treat most problems.

Meier Family Chiropractic provides chiropractic services to patients in the Waukee area and its neighboring suburbs. Their main area of intervention involves adjustments that help reduce pain by supporting the nervous system and restoring various joint functions. The health profession focuses primarily on the spine and a few joints of the nervous system. Some of the common conditions treated at the clinic include neck and back pain, scoliosis, sciatica, carpal tunnel, headaches and migraine, sports injuries, and wellness care. Patients are advised to look for those secondary conditions that highlight the need for chiropractic services. These include migraines, recurrent infections, hunched back, numbness and tingling, lower back pain, herniated discs, loss of balance, neck pain, and migraines.

Do you suffer from long-lasting back pain and manage it with pain reliever? You can get temporary relief from pain relievers, but it has many side effects like indigestion, liver damage, and kidney failure. It’s like solving a problem at the cost of getting a new one that is more damaging.

Visit the local Melbourne chiropractic to get the right line of treatment. You need to go to the chiropractor and discuss all the issues – from lifestyle struggles to extreme pain. The chiropractor has the answer to all of your physical problems like pain, spasms, sudden weight loss or gain, insomnia and even neurological problems.

What is chiropractic?

Chiropractic is an alternative treatment when the practitioner uses their hands to treat bones, muscles, and other bodily problems. It is a form of therapy based on diagnosis and works on spinal misalignment, spinal area, nerve damage and painful organs. It is not part of traditional medical treatment and falls under complementary and alternative medicine.

What ailments can you manage with chiropractic?

Arterial pressure: The Human Journal of Hypertension published an article indicating that chiropractic adjustments help people manage high blood pressure. Relief is like taking blood pressure medication.

You can get relief for up to 6 months after adjusting the vertebrae. The important side effects of high blood pressure medications are fatigue, nausea, anxiety, sudden weight loss, and dizziness. You can treat both low and high blood pressure with this.

Neck and lower back pain: Over 80% of people experience neck and lower back pain at some point. A combination of medications and surgeries are the only conventional options leaving you with more dangerous conditions like post-operative complications.

Chronic neck pain that causes dizziness and lower back complications can make you temporarily disabled. Chiropractic is the best option for pain management which is a better alternative to invasive techniques and medications.

Scoliosis: When you have problems with curvature of the spine that hamper posture, reducing daily activities, then treatment is needed. Scoliosis is a serious physical problem for which physiotherapy, pain management, and chiropractic correction are best.

Reduces inflammation: Any chronic pain in the body leads to inflammation. When the muscles and joints in the body swell and become painful, it leads to other major ailments. With complementary and alternative medicine, your inflammation decreases in just a few visits.

Neurological problems: With chiropractic adjustments, you can manage neurological conditions like Parkinson’s disease and multiple sclerosis. The increased blood flow to the brain helps in improving cerebrospinal fluid. This is a very important health benefit for people with terminal illnesses.

Physiotherapy and alternative care have created a breakthrough in reducing many physical pains. Examples are sports injuries, childbirth complications, sciatica, migraines, colic pain, acid reflux, prolonged ear infections, and postoperative pain management.

You no longer have to suffer; see the nearest chiropractors and get the appointment now.

The Chirocare Center shows how chiropractic treatment complements West Edmonton Therapy massage

Chirocare Center, an Edmonton-based chiropractic clinic, offers a range of massage therapy options to patients throughout the Edmonton area. For over a century, chiropractic and massage techniques have been offered together to relieve pain in patients.

Chirocare Center and Dr Brian Yee are pleased to announce that their West Edmonton massage practice has broadened the types of methods and techniques available to patients. Massage therapy goes well with chiropractic treatment to improve well-being. A chiropractor has the training and skills to make adjustments to the spinal vertebrae, while a massage therapist helps relieve tension in the muscles around the spine. Tension in the muscles is a natural reaction to a misaligned vertebra.

When the bone is in the incorrect position, the muscles in the body contract or become blocked to prevent further damage to the spine. To get the best possible results from a chiropractic adjustment, chiropractors often recommend a Edmonton massage session combined with chiropractic care. By warming the muscles around the area that needs to be adjusted, the treatment becomes more effective.

At the Chirocare Center, the chiropractor transmits his diagnosis directly to the massage therapist. This practice ensures the best possible patient care with better continuity. The two types of care: chiropractic and massage, allow you to quickly regain optimal health and mobility.

Further details can be viewed at https://chirocarecentre.com/massage/

Several forms of massage therapy are offered at Chirocare. These include deep tissue massage, Swedish, sports massage and relaxation massage. Other therapies included in the practice of massage include trigger point therapy, hot stone therapy, myofascial release, and prenatal massage. The massage therapists at the Chirocare Center also offer lymphatic drainage and acupressure therapy to patients.

Edmonton Health Center combines massage services with chiropractic sessions in one convenient location and offers direct insurance billing. These two types of treatments complement each other and, together, offer the body itself to act as its best healer. The combination of chiropractic and massage helps the body reduce inflammation and restore alignment so that it can function properly.

About the company:

Chiropractic care center is a multidisciplinary clinic that offers massage therapy and chiropractic adjustments in one place. The two disciplines work well together to relieve pain and restore health. Massage helps the muscles of the body to relax so that skeletal adjustments can be more effective.

Chiropractic treatment for sciatica

Sciatica in the form of pain, burning, or tingling can be debilitating, but chiropractic treatment for sciatica can ease the pain.

Sciatica – many patients seeking chiropractic come for this reason, as the pain in the form of soreness, burning, or tingling can be debilitating. While the pain usually cannot be removed immediately, it can be relieved with appropriate chiropractic treatment for sciatica.

According to Steve Knauf, DC, executive director of chiropractic and compliance at The Joint Chiropractic, who was also appointed by the governor to serve on the Arizona Board of Chiropractic Examiners, “Sciatica pain can strongly affect the way life of the person who suffers from it. It’s no wonder that a person with sciatica pain wants immediate pain relief.

Chiropractic treatment for sciatica can vary

“Unfortunately, sciatica pain is usually not a quick fix,” Knauf says. “Responses to treatment can vary widely from person to person, even with the same diagnosis for cause. Lifestyle can also affect the speed of healing. The ergonomics of the workplace, stress, general health, age and smoking can all affect the success and duration of treatment. This means chiropractors need to be well equipped to have conversations with patients, set realistic expectations for recovery time, and be good at encouraging patients to stick to their treatment plans. This can be difficult because many patients expect immediate results.

So what can chiropractors do to help patients get relief?

“Chiropractic adjustments seek to increase range of motion, prevent fibrous adhesions, restore proper alignment, and decrease the frequency and intensity of pain,” he says. “Increased movement in the spine also helps remove inflammation and provides nutrition to the joints to enable healing. Additionally, restored movement and proper structural alignment can reduce pressure on the structures that compress the joint. nerve.

Ice, TENS and other treatments

Ice, Knauf says, can also help in the chiropractic treatment of sciatica by promoting “vasoconstriction to reduce inflammation, pain, edema, and muscles that can cause nerve irritation, and TENS units can be used. to control pain and increase levels of endorphins and enkephalins. . “

Additionally, if a patient is in the acute stage of sciatica, chiropractors may suggest the use of anti-inflammatory herbs such as turmeric, ginger, cayenne pepper, and boswellia. After the acute phase, DCs can encourage patients to do stretches and exercises that will strengthen the abdominal muscles and prevent adhesions in injured muscles.

“A lot of people don’t realize that there are so many causes of sciatica pain, and unfortunately one solution doesn’t work for everyone. Sciatica pain is a symptom, just like cough. It is very important to find the right one. ‘Cause of pain for treatment, “Knauf explains.” Making a correct diagnosis and determining a specific root cause is the first step, as treatment options and precautions may be different. “

Make lifestyle adjustments

While no chiropractor can guarantee that the problem and pain will not return, they can do their best to counsel patients on adjustments and what they can do at home to relieve their current pain and what changes in their condition. lifestyle can help prevent sciatica from coming back.

“The musculoskeletal system is closely tied to your nerves and all of them must be functioning properly to avoid injury,” says Knauf. “A person’s body reacts to different stimuli and trauma several times a day. When the musculoskeletal system and nervous system are not functioning well, a person’s body may not respond appropriately to daily stressors and injury can occur. It can be immediate or develop chronically over time.

“Chiropractic adjustments aim to align the pelvis and spine to allow more flexibility, better structural support, better range of motion and improved nerve function. This can prevent future acute and chronic injuries resulting from repetitive and inappropriate movement by properly coordinating your body to respond to environmental stress.

Knauf says the short-term benefits that chiropractic treatment for sciatica can bring to patients will focus on decreasing the frequency and intensity of pain, restoring range of motion, while promoting healing of pain. soft tissue.

“Once a patient is stable and able to rest painlessly, it is more important to prevent a recurrence. Restoring the stability and strength of the area then becomes essential to support the previously injured area in order to prevent or delay future events, ”he says.

“While it is important for the patient to resume their daily activities, it is also important to correct the underlying issues that caused the injury. A change in ergonomics, strengthening exercises, and avoiding contributing factors can all be part of the future plan. Maintenance chiropractic care should also be considered as a recommendation for patients as part of their preventive measures.

Ways to treat a pinched nerve

pinched nerve
(© BigBlueStudio – stock.adobe.com)

Pinched nerve problems are quite painful and are temporary or last for a while. Almost 85% of people in the world suffer from back pain with some obscure reasons. A pinched nerve is caused by disc problems in the spine or by too much pressure on the spinal nerve, causing excruciating pain.

Dr Ricardo Lalama is an excellent chiropractor who deals with the treatment of pinched nerves. The nerves in the body that run from the brain all the way down send messages to your body. With the compression of the nerves, this often leads to pain.

Too many things contribute to the pinched nerve. Repetitive motions can cause nerve compression passing through narrow spaces through the joints without soft tissue protection. Pinched nerve also occurs due to a bulging or herniated disc. The chiropractor works to determine the cause to find the solution to treat the pain.

Some of the ways to treat back pain are listed below:

Correction of your posture

Poor posture is one of the reasons for pinched nerves. Sitting in awkward positions puts unnecessary stress on many parts of the back and is mostly experienced by people working in an office who work all day.

So correct your posture quickly and sit up straight when doing your job. Keep the monitor at eye level so you don’t have to search for hours.

Take a sudden break

To cure ailments, taking a nice and long break is an effective way to get rid of it. This helps give the joints and muscles a rest without further intervention. If one part is itchy, switch to the other side.

Get enough sleep because relieving a pinched nerve is also essential. If possible, try to add more hours of sleep. Your pinched nerve symptoms subside after the first night, which immediately gives your body more time to recover.

Use a workstation

Try replacing the desk with a workstation, as long hours spent on desks lead to pinched nerves. The workstation has a height where you can keep your laptop and continue your work. Workstations help you improve your posture and keep your body active throughout the day.

If you can’t find a workstation at your desk, then get up often and take a break from 10 to 15 minutes to walk outside to breathe some fresh air.

Elongation

Pinched nerves can happen simply from the stretching and pressure of the nerves and it only happens when you are doing the stretches. You don’t have to do yoga or meditation for the same. Small, occasional stretches are sufficient to treat the pinched nerve. Just keep your stretching light, as overdoing it can make the condition worse.

Application of ice and heat

Applying ice to the pinched area can help reduce all kinds of inflammation and also swell the area. It becomes important to reduce the inflammation, otherwise there will be more swelling resulting in more pain. Apply ice packs lightly to the swollen area for about 15 minutes. Continue it three times a day.

You can also use a heating pad against the swollen area for about 15 minutes to get relief. You can continue this for about 4 to 5 times a week. After that, take a nice, warm shower.

Consulting chiropractor

Chiropractic is the best way to get relief from pinched nerves and it is something that is becoming popular day by day. Professionals understand your body and nerves and know where to apply pressure to get rid of them. The chiropractor helps in getting relief from tension, pain and leads to faster recovery.

Treating Pinched Nerves Using Chiropractic Services

The drugs help reduce inflammation, but they are not enough to solve the problems in the first place. With chiropractic, the chiropractor moves forward in understanding the whole body and the root cause of pain to restore full health.

These use spinal cord treatments like heat or cold therapy, and all kinds of exercises to help the body heal faster. The focus should be not only on pain, but on managing the whole body.

A recent study on low back pain

A recent study published in 2018 regarding chiropractic exercises in the JAMA Open Network has gained enormous popularity by giving the pros and cons of treating back pain using chiropractic care.

The research was based on 750 servicemen complaining of back pain. Half of the people used random care while others were used to receiving usual care including 12 chiropractic treatments. They received 6 weeks of treatment and after that they have the following records:

Reporting less pain

  • More improvement in the functioning of the body
  • Satisfaction report when performing chiropractic exercises
  • Needed less pain medication

No serious side effects were reported, but only 10% of staff receiving chiropractic care complained of side effects such as stiffness in muscles or joints. Five percent of people taking occasional care also complained about the same.

Symptoms to check for pinched nerves

There are many symptoms associated with pinched nerves. Some of them are:

  • Pain in the lower back, legs or neck
  • Numbness or tingling sensation
  • Burning sensation
  • Weakness caused in limbs while doing activities

Role of chiropractic care

Most doctors prefer standard back pain care, and standard care includes rest, stretching, pain relievers, and heat for relief. The only good news with chiropractic care is that people get better within 2 weeks of treatment.

No one knows how good chiropractic care is and how effective it will be on the body. Low back pain costs about $ 200 billion a year, resulting in disability. Thus, the treatment of back pain should be safe and effective.

Conclusion

If you feel any pain, don’t wait and think if it’s a pinched nerve or not. See a doctor and get the treatment you need. Chiropractic care helps relax muscles and increase blood flow to the pinched area.

Running 411: The Importance of Chiropractic Treatment with Dr. Richard Stewart

For competitive marathon runners, ultra-runners, triathletes and weekend warriors … the running season is in full swing! With Spartan US National Series in Florida and Grit OCR in Southern California, runners around the world are putting their training to the test this weekend. Before reaching the start line and after crossing that finish line, an athlete must taper and recover properly. It means: adjustments! Having the right chiropractor is just as vital as running in the right running shoes and clothing.

With so many of our weekend readers and running enthusiasts in the greater Los Angeles area, I decided to sit down with Dr Richard Stewart; also known as The Los Angeles Back Doctor!

One of the best in his field, Dr. Stewart started out in the world of physiotherapy. With a bachelor’s degree in human biology and a doctorate in chiropractic (DC), he has a wonderful bedside manner. As soon as you step into his office, his staff and Dr. Stewart himself greet you with a warm smile.

His passion for healing began at a young age.

“I have always been amazed by the resilience of the human body. At a young age, I was hit by a car and spent nine weeks in the hospital with my leg in traction, followed by an additional eight weeks in a cast from the waist down to the toes Most people don’t remember taking their first step, for others it is a very vivid memory. Dr Stewart said.

He later joined the US Army. “I really learned how strong the human body is. With the right training and motivation, we would be carrying 90 pounds of gear over twenty miles with minimal sleep and very little recovery before the next bump. did it with bad food, caffeine and other bad decisions. It amazes me how our bodies are meant to be a temple, but we treat it like a house of carnival fun and it continues. “ he said.

As soon as Dr. Stewart got out of the military, he knew he wanted to be a healer. “I wanted to help people recover from injuries and achieve their individual goals”, he added.

dr. richard stewart, chiropractor

When I first met Dr. Stewart, it was right before my Spartan 10K Trail run. He fitted me well from head to toe – and everything he did to my ankle … worked wonders! I finished 1st place! To help my fellow runners, I asked him a few questions:

Compared to other chiropractors, how do you approach the field and how do you think the way you practice sets you apart from others?

Time and attention. Most offices will have therapists who will work on the patient first. The chiropractor does not spend a lot of time with the patient. I do the therapies myself. It gives me more time to find out what my patients’ goals are. Some are athletes who want to end an iron-man, others just want to get rid of the pain and get a good night’s sleep for a change. Every patient is an individual and treatments should be tailored for that individual, healthcare should never be cookie-cutter, one size will never work for everyone.

I am also honest. I don’t like to use machines, all of my therapy is done with my hands. Lots of muscle work and stretching, this prep work makes adjustments easier to do and more efficient. I do my best on every visit to help as much as possible. I’m not trying to sell treatment packages or scare people into coming more than they need.

How often do you recommend that the average person see a chiropractor?

For the average person, once a month is generally good. There will be times when life catches up with you and there will be more aches and pains, when this happens a good chiropractor can be of great benefit. Chronic pain will easily interfere with an individual’s quality of life and drop it very quickly. When that happens I leave the frequency to the patient, they know their body better than I do, so I listen and do my best to help.

For runners, how often do you recommend that they visit the chiropractor?

When before a race? Three days before a race is my recommendation. This treatment will be light. Light stretches and muscle work. Adjustments will be made for the conditions I treated. If you are a new patient, the treatment is different before a race. Stretching and muscle work will be the same, but the adjustments need to be very carefully considered. Runners came to see me a week before I ran the Los Angeles Marathon. I did some muscle work and adjusted my mid back and neck. High impact ankles and hips that I don’t like to sort out before a big run on new patients. If they know they can finish the race feeling what they are doing at the time, I don’t want to do anything that could compromise their chances of finishing the race.

When after a race? In a day or two. At this point the body recovers and this is the best opportunity to put everything back in place structurally, so that the body recovers properly. It makes things more stable in the long run.

Do runners need to have their ankles checked regularly?

Yes. For runners, the ankles are a major problem. I have worked in gyms for several years, the ankles are very neglected. Adjustments and stability exercises are a necessity for any athlete.

Tell me about your thoughts on technology – sitting in front of computers, slouching in front of your phone – impacts people. Have you noticed a drastic change in patients young and old over the years with the rise of Instagram etc. ?

Low back pain was highlighted while I was in school as the main disease I would treat, this has changed, 80% of patients come to me for neck, upper back, shoulder and shoulder problems. wrist / hand. Technology has fundamentally changed the way we interact with each other and our physical structure.

I teach anatomy, physiology, microbiology and pathology at a university on Tuesdays and Thursdays. I realized that drastic technology changed us when I put the students on hiatus. I always come back to class and it’s quiet, the students don’t really talk to each other, they are all hunched over their phones, they look like boiled shrimp, very smart boiled shrimp.

We are constantly looking down. Head forward, shoulders rolled forward and curved back. Even with a standing desk, we look like boiled shrimp with legs. This constant position becomes normal and the body adapts to it. It increases the amount of aches and pains, and even interferes with the ability to expand the chest and breathe deeply.

My biggest concern is people who walk while looking at their phones. The downward force from the head to the neck is focused directly on the leading edge of the cervical vertebra with each step. This leads to a rupture of the disc between each vertebra. I see degenerative joint disease in patients in their thirties, it shouldn’t happen until their sixties. Please look up when you walk.

Do you think regular adjustments help relieve stress / anxiety in those with tighter shoulders / backs etc. ?

Sure. The modern world has put so much more stress and challenges on us, it will have a physical impact. Going to see your chiropractic should be relaxing and enjoyable. With the right therapy, the right fit, and some maintenance exercises, the tight muscles and pain should subside. It is always good to know that there is a place to go where you are important and important, a place to relax and feel better.

Chiropractors and chiropractic treatment: benefits and risks

Among those looking for alternatives for back pain relief, most choose chiropractic treatment. About 22 million Americans visit chiropractors each year. Of these, 7.7 million, or 35%, seek to relieve back pain from various causes, including accidents, sports injuries and muscle strains. Other complaints include pain in the neck, arms, and legs, and headaches.

What is chiropractic care?

Chiropractors use convenient spinal manipulations and other alternative treatments. The theory is that proper alignment of the musculoskeletal structure of the body, especially the spine, will allow the body to heal itself without surgery or medication. Manipulation is used to restore mobility to joints restricted by tissue damage caused by a traumatic event, such as a fall, or repetitive stress, such as sitting without proper back support.

Chiropractic treatment is primarily used as an alternative to pain relief for muscles, joints, bones, and connective tissues, such as cartilage, ligaments, and tendons. It is sometimes used in conjunction with conventional medical treatment.

The initials “DC” identify a chiropractor, whose training typically includes an undergraduate degree and four years of chiropractic study.

What is chiropractic treatment for back pain?

A chiropractor first takes a medical history, performs a physical exam, and may use lab tests or diagnostic imaging to determine if treatment is appropriate for your back pain.

The treatment plan may involve one or more manual adjustments in which the doctor manipulates the joints, using controlled, sudden force to improve range and quality of motion. Many chiropractors also incorporate nutritional counseling and exercise / rehabilitation into the treatment plan. The goals of chiropractic care include restoring function and preventing injury in addition to relieving back pain.

What are the benefits and risks of chiropractic care?

Spinal manipulation and chiropractic care are generally considered safe and effective treatments for acute low back pain, the type of sudden injury that results from moving furniture or being attacked. Acute back pain, which is more common than chronic pain, doesn’t last more than six weeks and usually gets better on its own.

Research has also shown that chiropractic care is helpful in treating neck pain and headaches. Additionally, osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia can respond to moderate pressure used by both chiropractors and deep tissue massage practitioners.

Studies have not confirmed the effectiveness of prolotherapy or sclerotherapy for pain relief, used by some chiropractors, osteopaths, and physicians, to treat chronic back pain, the type of pain that can come on suddenly or suddenly. gradually and lasts more than three months. The therapy involves injections such as sugar water or an anesthetic in the hope of strengthening the ligaments in the back.

People wThose with osteoporosis, spinal cord compression or inflammatory arthritis, or taking blood thinners should not undergo spinal manipulation. Additionally, patients with a history of cancer should first obtain permission from their doctor before undergoing spinal manipulation.

All treatment is based on an accurate diagnosis of your back pain. The chiropractor should be knowledgeable about your medical history, including current medical conditions, current medications, traumatic / surgical history, and lifestyle factors. Although rare, there have been cases in which treatment has worsened a herniated or herniated disc, or manipulation of the neck has resulted in spinal cord injury. To be safe, always check with your doctor to make sure your condition will benefit from chiropractic or other pain relief alternatives.
