Campus students will get their ‘chiropractic’ starting Monday

South Bank’s student campus on Wellesley Road, in the former Electric House, opens for the new Croydon Chiropractic Clinic on Monday.

Open to practice: the LSBU chiropractic clinic will offer treatment starting Monday

LSBU says the clinic “will be student-run and provide comprehensive chiropractic care at very affordable rates for the local community.”

Their press release doesn’t mention what those “very affordable rates” might be, but potential patients will then receive student treatment (albeit under supervision) – much like stepping into Toni and Guy as a “model”. for one of their interns and get their hair done for cheap.

Chiropractic care uses a range of techniques to reduce pain, improve function and increase mobility, including manual manipulation of the spine.

The LSBU press release states, “Supervised by experienced, licensed chiropractors, LSBU chiropractic students are trained to take medical histories, offer diagnoses, and recognize any health issues that may need to be referred to other types of care. Lifestyle advice, including nutrition and exercise, may also be provided as part of ongoing treatment.

Chiropractor students will treat a range of musculoskeletal issues, including spinal problems, joint dysfunction, and herniated discs.

They say: “LSBU is currently the only university in London to offer chiropractic courses.”

LSBU says more than 40% of its chiropractic students are of Black, Asian or minority background, although according to the General Chiropractic Council’s latest diversity report, less than 10% of registered chiropractors in the country are from BAME backgrounds. .

Mark Langweiler, Director of the LSBU Chiropractic Clinic, said, “To be able to open the doors to LSBU’s state-of-the-art Chiropractic Clinic is a true privilege. As a student-run clinic, we plan to treat up to 400 people a year, improving their health and quality of life and having a real impact on the local community as the only university in London to offer chiropractic courses.

“The new clinic will give LSBU students access to the latest evidence-based skills and therapies, providing them with the learning they need to be effective clinicians and build successful careers in industry.”
