The new Wausau VA clinic is expected to open in mid-May

ROTHSCHILD, Wis. (WSAW) — In mid-May, patients at the VA Clinic in Wausau will be seen for care at the new Rothschild facility.

The reconstruction portion of the project is nearly complete and the next phase will be to move medical equipment and supplies to the new location. The new installation is larger than the current installation.

“We are going to be able to offer more additional services than what we are producing right now or able to offer right now,” said Wausau VA Clinic director Kris Richardson.

Services other than those currently offered include: pharmacy, dental, optometry, acupuncture and chiropractic services, as well as massage therapy, physiotherapy, dermatology and audiology services.

“There will be no shared locations for health services. For example, we are not going to see mental health in the old clinic and primary care in the new clinic. So everything is going to be moved here on opening day. Once again, our team is delighted with this new space. And we look forward to serving our veterans here soon,” Richardson explained.

Veterans currently receiving health care at the Wausau VA Clinic will be notified of the clinic’s location change, while Routine Patient Appointment Reminders will clearly notify veterans of their scheduled appointment location. .

The new clinic is located at 1105 East Grand Avenue in Rothschild. This is the old Shopko building.
